Preface

My name is Deirdre. I have good intentions for keeping up my blog. It has a funny way of not staying as updated as I'd planned though...

Today's Weather: Cloudy, Wet & a Chance of B@@bs

Ugh. Daddy is gone again. This will be another month long separation of training for his upcoming deployment. Luckily, I've been blessed with the best family and friends who have taken pity on me and will be coming to visit E and me. Mom rolls in first on Friday for a week, then Rana and girls, and then last but CERTAINLY not least, ole Andy flies in. I'm so thankful to have the company. Time stands still when Jay is gone. We've been down to one car the entire time we've lived in Savannah, so sadly, between that and a baby that needs a schedule(ish) routine, momma hasn't made a ton of friends. I had one neighbor that I got along swimmingly with, but she's moved. The three wives I've met from Jay's work are great, but one has moved, another moves in a few weeks, and well....the third. Well, yea. It honestly doesn't bother me though. When Jay is home, he and E are #1. And frankly we don't have a ton of time to cultivate relationships. That and the fact I will leave in six months for almost a year... Well, you can see my lack of motivation. Today the weather is overcast and wet due to the first tropical storm of the year. I decided I've avoided the poor, stinky diapers long enough and needed to give them a good stripping. Whew, I will NOT let them get swamp booty again that bad! The house stinks of them from the steam. It took 3 rounds of clean water and boiling for 15 minutes each time to get them back to normal. Note to self...monthly boiling will be the new routine. E is growing like a crazy boy. He's been sort of fussy the last few days. B@@b is pretty much the only time he isn't being annoyed. Days like this, I wish I could just keep him on the b@@b all day long. I tell ya, I don't get why some Mother's choose not to nurse. That shiz fixes EVERYTHING! Crying from a boo boo? Pop a b@@b in. Whining from teething? Pop a b@@b in. Having a hard time sleeping? Pop a b@@b in. Screaming in the carseat? Pop a b@@b in. I'm sure you're seeing the trend. I don't know what I'll do once the BEST bandaid, fix all, end all, be all doesn't work anymore... It's just so dang convenient! Oh. And couple that with feeding your baby the best thing possible? Yes, please. Until later...
